"Every Good & Perfect Gift" Review and Giveaway!

"Every Good & Perfect Gift" by Sharon K. Souza

I was thrilled to get to read this book, it is what I would categorize as women's fiction and is Sharon's debut novel. Based on this book I am anxious to see what she will accomplish for her 2nd novel. Every Good & Perfect Gift is a great book that draws on real life experiences and deals with some heavy issues such as infertility, illness, friendship and faith. Sharon manages to take these heavy issues and infuse them with humor and feeling. It is not a usual thing for me to find a book that grabs me from the first paragraph and doesn't let me go until the last page (as I'm bawling). This book does that, and its not a mystery or a suspense - usually I think of women's fiction as being a slowly developing work in character development and a continuously, unraveling plot line - Sharon's book breaks that mold in the manner of jumping right in with both feet. You will meet Gabby and DeeDee and follow their path with them as they show that true friendship breaks all conventional stereotypes and is truly a blessing from God.

I am giving away a copy of this book - leave a comment telling me about your best friend and with your email so I can reach you if you win - good luck!

Hi, My only sister is ten years older than me. My parents were older when they had me. I was like a nanny to my nieces when they were growing up! My sister is not only a mother figure for me, she is the Godmother of my two sons and my best friend. We help each other watch over our 90 year old dad and we take one day a month for our "special day!" We shop, have lunch and laugh (sometimes we cry a little). Please enter me in your drawing. It would be fun to give this book to my sister. Thanks,Cindi

My best friend is also my sister, who is 1 1/2 years younger than I am. We moved 30 plus times in my childhood, so I was always the "new kid" struggling to fit in and make friends. I was blessed to have my sister, though... and we were never without each others friendship no matter how difficult life was at the time. As adults, living in different states, we are still best friends. We talk to each other often on the phone, and play online games together and chat on msn once a week. I thank God, for the blessing of my precious sister.

Please enter me in your drawing! :)

My best friend also doubles as my husband. I'm an only child, and while I have some fairly close friends, my husband wins in the "best friends" category. We're always there in support of each other, deep conversation comes easy, and we do almost everything together.

I love the premise of Sharon's book and would love to win a copy. Thank you for the opportunity!

My best friend is a woman whom I went to school with and lost touch with for many years. We reconnected and have not lost the foundation it was based upon. I value her friendship and her wonderful attitude and she is now someone whom I can depend upon whatever may happen in life. I am so fortunate at this stage to have found her again.

My best friend was my Grandma. I could tell her anything and we liked doing the same things ~ looking for antiques, reading, shopping, etc. She has been gone for almost 7 years now and I miss her every day.

My husband is also my best friend ~ we enjoy spending time together ~ his favorite thing is golfing (which I don't like) so I ride in the cart. I like shopping ~ which he hates ~ but he carries my bags. lol

I am very fortunate to have a loving and devoted grandma. She has been my confidants, friend and mentor. We cook and bake together and I have learned from her about family, traditions and throughout the years she has been there for me. We visit together, shop, eat out and enjoy relaxing at the end of the day. I am blessed with this wonderful woman who has shown me most importantly values and principles.

I feel so blessed to have a handful of very faithful & close friends who I've known for between 2 & 25 years (you know - the kind you may not see for weeks, months or even years(different seasons) & always pick up right where you left off?). My closest of those friends, I've only known for 2 years, but it feels like we've been friends forever! We both know without a doubt that our meeting was a God appointment.
We have many similar, current "life circumstances" (not only between us, but also our husbands, their vocations, our children and their schooling!) We see each other regularly & often, supporting, encouraging and praying for (& with) each other (for, among many other things, each other's needs and those of our families). We shop, walk, go out for coffee, talk, laugh, cry, pray, scrap/craft, chat, watch movies or just sit and read together. One of those very comfortable friendships you can just "be" in... A God given gift, for sure! He knew the things that lay ahead of each of us, and what we would each need. I'm so very thankful for my dear friend and her family every day!
This book sounds wonderful and I know that it is one we would both enjoy - our daughters would also (along with books, a love of reading, and many other interests, they also share very special friendships!!)
I have only today come across your blog. I posted a comment under "The Bunko Babes" (also sounds like a great book!) before subscribing to your e-mail.
Thankyou for writing these reviews ... Jacqui

I met my best friend in a moms-to-be exercise class. We share the common bond of having children that are the same age. Even though I have moved away from the area that she lives due to work we still are very close and talk and visit all of the time!

My best friend was my mother whom I miss every single day. We had a rapport that was close, warm and wonderful. We went on trips together later on in her life and I am so grateful that we had this special time to appreciate each other and especially so to learn from her. She was independent, selfless and giving. I realize how lucky I was to have her for many years and am thankful for that. I write notes in my journal so that I can confide in her and share reminiscences and events that she is missing.

My best friend would have to be my husband. (and I'm thrilled to see others who have said the same!) We are always together, we can finish each other's sentences, and can't stand to be apart without a phone call. I have other friends that are wonderful, but no one is there for me like my husband.

When I relocated to another city and another country I knew no one at all. This did not seem at all daunting since I wanted a fresh start and needed to begin in a new place that would be special and unique. I settled in and then encountered a lovely group of women whom I saw regularly for walks and small outings. Within this group was one women whose warmth, caring attitude and sweet nature provided me with what I was missing for so long. We are inseparable and have much in common. How fortunate am I to have met this special friend so late in life. Thanks.saubleb(at)gmail(dot)com
