"An American Carol" The Movie Review

"AN AMERICAN CAROL" REVIEW
Has anyone been to see An American Carol? It opened Friday night and our little podunk town actually got it in and so it was a given that we had to go on opening night - and we almost never go to the movies. Have you heard about the movie? No, well let me sum it up for you. It is basically a spoof movie (usually not my favorites) that spoofs the left-wing nut jobs, Micheal Moore, Rosie O'Donnell and too many other things to mention. It was a funny movie, but I didn't laugh as much as I thought I would - it was too true to be funny sometimes!

One scene worth seeing the movie for is a scene at a university. It is a musical number that I have to say was awesome - it's the university professors singing about how they are brainwashing the youth of this nation and they're tenured so there is nothing anyone can do about it.

Oh and the ACLU is portrayed incredibly accurate in this movie - you have to admire the actors that agreed to do the roles of the undead, zombie creatures :-)

Jon Voight does an amazing George Washington and has a great scene. Kelsey Grammer pulls off Patton like a pro, but really the movie goes to Kevin Farley (Chris Farley's brother) as Michael Malone, a documentary film maker whos new task is to abolish the 4th of July. He is hilarious.

I will put one little disclaimer in here now, there are a few swear words (the s*** word) and a few off color jokes (nothing like most spoof movies though). It is not a kid's movie, they wouldn't understand why the ACLU/zombie jokes are funny anyway. But it is a movie that adults need to see. I hope it does well and shows Hollywood that Republicans / Christians / morally upright people deserve to have movies made too.
