I have read quite a few of Christine Lynxwiler's books by now and I have to say that "Cowgirl At Heart" is the most enjoyable yet. She just gets better and better every book. I loved the characters in this book, solid but not perfect. Elyse is a wonderful addition to the McCord sisters. She is the "dog whisperer" and sets out to rescue a lab that she hears might be in trouble. She discovers him, locked up and starving to death. As she tries to call for help she is attacked and in serious danger. A knight in shining armor arrives just in time to save her, but the bad guy gets away. Now Andrew wants to protect Elyse from the guy that got away, who he just happens to believe might have killed his wife three years ago. Love follows for both of them even though for their own reasons they know it can't work out. Danger follows Elyse and Andrew keeps trying to intercept.
Good story, great keeping up with Crystal and Jeremy from book #1, and excellent new situations and circumstances. Good book.
