My favorite Christian character is?

My Friend Amy, who brought us Book Blogger Appreciation Week has a new carnival in the works, the Saturday Carnival of Christian Fiction.

Each week she will post a blogging prompt, which participating bloggers will answer on their own blogs. Then they head back to the original post and sign Mister Linky! This way we can all come to know each other more closely.

Today's question is: There are many outstanding characters in the books we read but often there's that one special character we remember for a long time. Sometimes it's because we relate to them, or maybe we were going through something similar to what they experienced. Or maybe they are just the sort of person we wish we were. Who is the most memorable character in Christian fiction for you and why?

If you consider that just so far this year (as of today) I have read 187 Christian Fiction books then you can imagine that to narrow my favorite character down to 1 is a near impossibility! I can however narrow it down. The first ones to pop into my head are:

Amanda Bell Brown (Claudia Mair Burney's heroine from the books "Murder, Mayhem and a Fine Man" and "Death, Deceit and some Smooth Jazz") for her spunk, humor and dedication to getting to the bottom of things - I wish she was my best friend :-)

Mayla (Virginia Smith's heroine from the books "Just As I Am" and "Sincerely, Mayla") for her individuality (pink hair and piercings) and amazing approach to the hard things in life (homosexuality, abortion...) I love her!

Scotty (Lisa Samson's heroine from the Hollywood Nobody series) a self-reliant homeschooler who is full of spunk, loves to read and blog and is just trying to figure out life while getting chased by tattoo guy and falling for movie star Seth. I wish she was my daughter's best friend!

Susan (Sharon Hinck's heroine from the Restorer series) a soccer mom that is transported to the land of Lyric becomes the one person that can save the land - but first she has to learn how to hold a sword. Her journey (spiritually and physically) is amazing and I did not want this series to end!

I'd better stop there, but if you want to know more - just ask :-)

Now, who's your favorite?

Two of your four I'm familiar with: Mayla and Susan, and I agree: they're characters I could relate to.

Here's my answer:

Wow! I'm so excited that Mayla is one of your favorite characters -- she's one of mine, too! (Well, I guess that goes without saying, huh?)

Thanks so much. You made my day!
