MY REVIEW:
The Fence My Father Built is another new release from Abingdon fiction Press and yet again they have proven that they are setting themselves apart from the crowd by picking books that are not cookie cutter stories. That is the one common thread between all of them so far, they are all completely unique. The Fence My Father Built is what I would consider woman's fiction and it is packed full of everything... abandonment, divorce, runaways, returning home, death, love and in the middle of all of that is the mystery surrounding a possible Indian burial site and robbery. I found this book really interesting and from the beginning to the end I was engrossed in how everything was going to wrap up.
My only complaint was that in wrapping everything up I didn't get the closure that I was hoping for, we never saw how the townspeople really reacted to how everything played out, but overall that was a minor detail.
I liked this book and am really looking forward to seeing what Abingdon fiction Press continues to offer readers.

Linda S. Clare is an award-winning coauthor of three books, including Lost Boys and the Moms Who Love Them (with Melody Carlson and Heather Kopp), Revealed: Spiritual Reality in a Makeover World, and Making Peace with a Dangerous God (with Kristen Johnson Ingram). She has also published many essays, stories, and poems in publications including The Christian Reader, The Denver Post, and The Philadelphia Inquirer. Linda grew up in a part of Arizona, where the dirt is as red as it is in Central Oregon. She graduated summa cum laude in Art Education from Arizona State University and taught in public and private schools. She has taught college-level creative writing classes for seven years, and edits and mentors writers. She also is a frequent writing conference presenter and church retreat leader. She and her husband of thirty-one years have four grown children, including a set of twins.
