The Top 9 Historical Books of 2009 (Part 2)

The Top 9 Historical Books of 2009 (Part 2)
(according to Janna)

#4 Top Historical Book of 2009 - The Frontiersman's Daughter by Laura Frantz...
Laura Frantz has written a historical fiction that literally swept me away to another time and place. I found myself immersed in Kentucky the late 1700's / early 1800's and I was enthralled. Lael is a wonderful heroine and her story is so worth telling and worth reading. Sit back and enjoy when you read my #4 pick for 2009!

#5 Top Historical Book of 2009 - Journey to the Well by Diana Wallis Taylor...
Here is another example of Biblical fiction so well done that I read about a person I never had any sympathy for and I cried over her. Diana delves into history and comes out with possibilities for why the woman at the well may have been in the unusual situation Jesus found her in. I was captivated by this story and this scenario - wonderful book!

#6 Top Historical Book of 2009 - The House in Grosvenor Square by Linore Rose Burkard...
I was thrilled when book #2 came out in this series - Regency romance at its best. Sweet story, wonderful characters returning to try and reach their wedding day and the whole bunch of shenanigans that attempt to stand in their way. Love, love, love it - and the best part... book #3 just released!

Hey Janna, I could not let this opportunity pass without saying that The Frontiersman's Daughter is hands-down, one of the best books I have read IN YEARS!! I'm talking Liz Curtis Higgs/Francine Rivers caliber here, so run, people, don't walk to the bookstore to get this amazing read. Debut novel??? Hard to believe.

Hugs,
Julie
