As inexorable forces conspire to turn him from his purpose, Jake finds his path leading to places beyond his courage.

MY REVIEW:
I can honestly say that this trilogy ranks in my top 10 of all time favorite books that I have read. It it absolutely ground breaking and eye opening. Rich characters, settings that span two worlds vividly and a storyline so gripping my life would go on hold whenever I picked one of these books up. When I heard that Sharon Hinck was doing the series in expanded editions I was so excited! I am one of those people that like to watch all the extras on the expanded dvds of my favorite movies and will even watch the movies with the director's or actor's voice overs. This is like being able to do that for your favorite books. There are lots of bonus chapters and insights that make the whole book more enriching. For instance, there are chapters from the viewpoint of other characters so you can get inside their heads and see what they were thinking in that instance. At the beginning of this book there is actually a cool scene where we read a chapter through the eyes of one of the main characters and then we get a bonus chapter where it is the same scene but through the eyes of one of the other main characters - it's so cool!
The basis of this book is continuing the saga of Susan Mitchell, a soccer mom who is transported to another world that is counting on her to be The Restorer and save everyone, but she doesn't have a clue how she is supposed to do that. God is in control but new enemies keep arising and here in book #3 Susan has been kidnapped and needs saving herself. It is up to her son Jake to save her, or is it? I was so glad to come back to the land of Lyric. This series is now firmly planted in my top 10 thanks to the expanded editions and new insight!
